Yogamudrasana - Psychic Union Pose

As it occupies a place of significant importance in the field of yoga, it is called Yogamudrasana.

Note:

Sit comfortably in the Padmasana posture on a blanket or carpet. Held the wrist of one hand with another at the back. Close the fist of the other hand. Sit erect. Let the chin and neck be straight and let the gaze be straight in front. Now inhale or take a long breath. Close your eyes. Slowly exhale. Press the abdomen towards the spinal column. Now bend forward and touch the ground with your forehead. Again hold your breath as long as possible. In the beginning do not be in a hurry to touch the ground with your forehead. Let there be no jerky movements. After staying for sometime in this posture inhale slowly, rise up and come to the former position.

You can raise your arms upwards if you wish. After practice, you can do the mudra not just for 5 to 10 minutes but for many hours. But it will be enough for you if you do it for ten seconds. If it is to be done for ten minutes, Kumbhaka (retention) need not be done. Normal breathing should be continued.

Yogamudra is for everyone. This cures loss of appetite and whets the gastric burning. It cures indigestion and constipation. It makes the spinal column, waist, veins and muscles flexible and strong. It helps to cure diabetes and reduces obesity. The whole body gets exercise through the Yogamudra.
