The fourth Yam is Brahmcharya. The simple meaning of Brahmcharya is to lad a controlled sex life even as a house¬holder living in society. Enjoying lift is one of the noblest desires and is important for a house-holder. Without it, the house-holder’s life becomes dull and indifferent. But while controlled enjoyment gives joy, energy and knowledge, inordinate indulgence gives dissatisfaction and unhappi ness. Living in society, enjoying a controlled sex life as a house-holder is called Brahmacharya.
