The fifth Yam is Aparigraha. The meaning of Apari-graha is not to collect. Even in olden days, men used to accumulate things at every stage of life (either in celibate state, household state, retired state or in very old age), this should also be controlled. We should collect only as much as in necessary and not too much. We amass money in houses, business and banks; we also collect more than what is necessary for the body. The accumulation inside the body makes us “diseased”. Now-a-days, not only the common man but also advisers of our health, whom we call doctors accumulate more than what is necessary inside the body. They fall sick due to this. Now-a-days many sick, unhealthy doctors are treating patients. So, if you have collected much inside your body, then try to throw it out and in a few days, it will be completely light. Throw out accumulated dirt and never collect it again.
