


One can get “Siddhis” or miraculous powers, if this asana is practised for a long period. Hence the name of this asana is Siddhasan. This asana is a favourite asana of Siddha Yogis who have experienced spiritual bliss.
Technique :
Sit on a carpet or blanket spreading both legs forward. Bending the left leg at the knees, press the left heel on the perenium (Muladhara) firmly. The front foot should touch the right thigh. Now bending the right leg fix the heel on the part above the genital organs in such a way that you do not put any pressure on the genital organs. Let the toes lie in between the calf muscles and things of the left leg. Let the ankle joints of both legs lie one above the other. Let the waist, spine, neck and head be in an erect posture. Keep both the hands in the Jnana Mudra in the state of Brahmanjali. Concentrate on the part in between the eye-brows or tip of the nose or close your eyes. Keep on sitting peacefully without moving in the position of Jnana Mudra. This is the final stage of this asana. In the beginning sit for 2 or 4 minutes.
After enough practice, you can sit in this asana for 15 minutes. Yogis sit in this asana for hours while doing meditation and penance.
Note:
A family man need not do this asana for a long duration. Ladies can do this asana only while observing celibacy. Students and persons in their middle age and saints should practise this asana for a sufficiently long time. Students would benefit greatly if they study sitting in this Asana.

Siddhasana brings relief to the sufferers of heart and lung diseases. It removes the disorders of digestion and semen. This is an important asana for controlling the desire for sex, for observing celibacy, preserving semen and gaining mental peace. Memory power is strengthened by this asana. Gyan Mudra:
Bend your index finger and touch it to the base of your thumb. The other three fingers namely middle, ring and little should be stitched out together. Put both your hands on your knees.
Brahmanjali:
Put your left palm on your heels underneath you navel, then put your right palm on your left. This is the final position of Brahmanjali.
